Get Ready for September

Congratulations on accepting your place at Glossopdale Sixth Form!

To help you make the best possible start in September, each subject has prepared a transition project for you to complete over the summer. These projects are designed to bridge the gap between GCSE and Level 3 study, introducing you to some of the knowledge, skills and ways of working that you'll experience in your first few weeks.

Transition projects are not tests, and you won't be expected to know everything before you start. Instead, they are an opportunity to build your confidence, explore your chosen subjects and arrive ready to learn.

Why should I complete them?

Completing your transition projects will help you:

• Refresh important GCSE knowledge.
• Develop the independent study skills needed for Sixth Form.
• Gain an introduction to your chosen subjects.
• Feel more confident in your first lessons.
• Make a positive start to Year 12.

How do I complete them?

Simply download the project for each subject you are planning to study and work through the activities over the summer. Some subjects may ask you to complete written tasks, while others may include reading, research, videos or practical activities.

You don't need to complete everything in one go – we recommend spreading the work across the summer holidays.
