Derbyshire Makes is Derbyshire County Council’s flagship three-year cultural programme, celebrating the county’s rich legacy, vibrant present, and innovative future of making. The programme champions Derbyshire’s creative community by nurturing and sustaining local talent through paid commissions, sector support, events, training, and shared resources. By creating opportunities for skills development, knowledge exchange, and employment, Derbyshire Makes is helping to build a resilient and thriving making and heritage sector across the county. A key strand of the programme, STEAM into ACTION, highlights pathways into Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Maths (STEAM), showcasing careers in making and inspiring young people to become the next generation of Derbyshire makers.
