Computing
Aims and ambitions:
The Computing curriculum at Glossopdale is designed to prepare students for life in an increasingly digital world. Our aim is to develop confident, capable and responsible users of technology who understand how digital systems work and how they shape modern society.
From Year 7 to Year 11, students follow a curriculum built around four golden threads: Computer Science, ICT, Creative Media and Online Safety. These strands run consistently through each year group, allowing knowledge and skills to be revisited, strengthened and applied in more complex ways over time.
Online safety is a core part of our curriculum. Students learn how to stay safe, act responsibly and make informed choices online, including understanding emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence and digital misinformation.
As students progress through Key Stage 3, they are prepared for KS4 pathways in Computer Science, Creative iMedia and ICT. By the time they leave the school, students are digitally confident, thoughtful users of technology and well equipped for further study, employment and life in the digital age.
